So very sorry to hear of Romalda's passing! We were neighbors growing up. Romalda was a very sweet girl who wrote stories in the school paper, and wrote about my meeting Elvis Presley when he and his entourage came to Miami to do a concert at the Olympia Theater. My dad, Eulogio Betancourt, was the manager of the Robert Clay Hotel, where many famous show people stayed. As a teen,I worked in the office and at the front desk. I was very pleasantly surprised to meet Elvis, who would always come down to the lobby to chat with me, frequently asking me to lunch with his group, but my dad would put his foot down, saying that I was not allowed to have a "hip twister" as a friend! That was very disappointing to me, but I did get to see his show at the Olympia Theater, and had the privilege of attending the back stage celebration! After they finished their tour, I never saw Elvis again! But Romalda wouild always ask me about him. Sadly Romalda and I didn't keep in touch throuhout the years, but I always fondly remembered her! May she always Rest In Peace with the Heavenly Angels!
